Pershing Garden Club

Do you like being outside?  Are you interested in learning how to grow seasonal herbs and veggies and some science along the way?  How about participating in hands on cooking classes where we prepare and EAT delicious treats using our own fresh produce?  How about a field trip to a real farm?  Then join the Pershing Garden Club!

The Pershing Garden Club (now under the umbrella of the PTO) is excited to team up with Recipe for Success as an affiliate in their Seed to Plate Program for the next three years!   The program is designed to encourage healthy eating habits by giving students the opportunity to learn how to grow and appreciate the flavors of fresh, seasonal produce – literally, from seed to plate.  *Attention parents!  Your students will learn how to properly use a knife!  Visit www.recipe4success.org for more information on this non-profit organization.

WHO:  Students, parents and teachers are welcome to participate in this FREE program as their schedule allows. Note, the garden will only be accessible to those in the Pershing Garden Club or to students visiting with their classroom teachers.  Remember, all visitors to the school must register with VIPS each year.

WHEN: Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school from 7:30-8:15 am and on some weekends.

HOW TO SIGN UP:  Click HERE to sign up using the BAND app.

**We would like to offer an additional after-school session on Tuesday afternoons from 4-5pm.   If you are a parent who is interested in leading or co-leading this session on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, please contact me!

All tools and gloves are provided.  Please remember to wear closed toe shoes/boots and sunscreen/hat and bring adequate WATER.
